"Pedra Preta" mine, in Brumado, State of Bahia, one of the largest reserves of magnesite and talc of the world, it is the source of raw materials used to produce basic refractories in Magnesita S.A., located in Contagem-MG

Magnesita S.A. is a privately owned Brazilian corporation, engaged in mining and production of a large range of refractory materials.
Primary mining operations are at Brumado, Brazil, where large magnesite deposits are located. Processing ores at its own deadburning plants, Magnesita manufactures basic refractories at Cidade Industrial de Contagem-MG, and São Caetano do Sul-SP.
Early on, Magnesita established a Research and Development Center, to ensure its place in the vanguard of technological development. Based at Cidade Industrial, the R&D Center is staffed by highly qualified personnel. The Center operates a complete range of analytical equipment, as well as a pilot plant where brick qualities are tested in actual production conditions.
Magnesita’s Quality Assurance complies fully with ISO 9001. Integrated, preventive QA is applied, from selection of suppliers and raw materials control, through production to finished product. There is a wide range of refractory castables, grouped as follows:

Conventional castables, normally with 15-25% binding cement, are easy to mix. Their setting time is 1-4 hours, and they have medium strength.
Low-Cement castables (LCC) usually have only 4-6% binder (cement and chemical), and require careful mixing in a paddle mixer, with accurate proportioning of water and vibration to assure their proper settling. Their setting time is usually 3-4 hours.
Self-floating castables are a sub-category of LCCs, but contain an additive that makes it unnecessary to vibrate. These are not recommended for field work.
Non-cement castables normally contain > 1% binder. Their setting time exceeds 5 hours, and they are difficult to mix. They are not recommended for use outside controlled environments.

Once Through Boiler is a water tube boiler constructed with a tube or tubes. Water or heat medium enters one end of a tube and steam or heated water is discharged from the other end. This process is starting up quickly and steam supplied within only 5 minutes. More, the water holding compartement is very small and give more safety compare to other boiler type such as fire tube boiler. The size is more compact and this feature give an advantage of space saving in installation. Other key feature is energy saving.

Many water supplies contain hard minerals, calcium and magnesium. When present in water they form a scale and create problems in many appliances and systems including washing machines, heaters, dishwashers, coffee makers, humidifiers and plumbing systems.
